Tonight Wicus, Heidi, Leon and Sylvia came over to our flat for dinner. Everyone bought whatever food they had in the fridge and we combined it all into dinner. It all worked out really well. Sausage and salami for starters followed by schnitzel, garlic bread and salad for main course. Dessert was two different Lindt.

As part of acclimatizing to the German way of life I have been doing my part by painstakingly sampling new beers at every opportunity. It’s hard work but someone has to do it. While looking for new research material in kaufland I came across a Landskron – Hell. At the same time I also spotted.

This morning we took the bus through to Stolpen to visit Burg Stolpen. It is built on a base of basalt left behind after a volcanic eruption. It’s most famous for being the prison of Anna Constantia Countess von Cosel, who spent almost 50 years there. It was a leisurely walk up from the bus.
